
Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica
Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica (UMB) is a public university which achieved university status in 2010 and is a member of the European University Association.
As the first Slovak institution, Matej Bel University was granted the ‘HR Excellence in research’ award. At the moment, Matej Bel University in Banska Bystrica consists of 6 faculties (Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Political Sciences and International Relations, and Faculty of Education).
The University has almost 600 university teachers and researchers, and around 7,000 students and offers a classic range of university education opportunities at all three levels and forms of studies in the areas of education, social issues, economy, law, politics, humanities and natural sciences and in the fields of international relations. In addition, it also provides Anglophonic and partially Francophonic studies.
UMB develops joint study programmes and has contacts with major foreign universities, where the students have the opportunity to complete part of their studies. Therefore, UMB graduates are efficient in finding their place in the labour market not only at home but also abroad. Furthermore, it implements lifelong learning in a variety of courses and forms of the UMB Children’s University and the UMB University of the Third Age. Finally, it provides students with sufficient opportunities for a variety of social activities through a wide range of sport clubs, artistic ensembles and student organisations functioning at UMB.
In June 2013, UMB was awarded the certificate of the quality management system according to the requirements of ISO 9001: 2008 and confirmed its ability to implement, maintain and improve its quality system. All university facilities have access to world databases such as Cambridge Journals: humanities and social sciences, Emerald, Scopus, Science Direct, Springer Link, Web of Knowledge, Wiley Online Library, etc.
In addition to pedagogical, scientific and artistic activities, a significant part of the creative activity of UMB is basic and applied research in cooperation with domestic and foreign institutions. UMB has 3 centres of research excellence, solves scientific and development projects from international and structural funds. The University has participated in projects under the 5th, 6th and 7th Framework Programmes, as well as in Horizon 2020 programme and currently also in Horizon Europe. It has many years of experience in participating in many other research projects funded by various grant schemes, e.g. NIL, OSF, CEEPUS , Interreg Central Europe, British KHF, American Express, EEA GRANTS, VISEGRAD, etc. In the Erasmus+ grant scheme, he has had several successful projects both as a partner and as a project coordinator.

University of Rzeszów
The University of Rzeszów (UR) will celebrate the twentieth anniversary of
of its foundation (7 June 2001). It can therefore be stated that it is
A university already fully formed, referring to the local traditions of higher education in Rzeszów, but belonging to the European family of universities.
Podkarpackie Voivodeship is geographically directly bordering Ukraine and Slovakia. After the start of the war in Ukraine, the population of Rzeszów increased by more than half (report by the Union of Polish Metropolises).
Rzeszów has become a major transport hub for emigrants from Ukraine. Today, 104,700 Ukrainian citizens live in Rzeszów, including 30,800 children. The University of Rzeszów (UR) is the largest public university in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship.
The main principle of UR is the search for truth, protection of freedom and respect for human dignity and identity. UR fosters the ability to work together, regardless of worldview, political and religious differences. Currently, UR educates more than 30,000 students in 51 field of study on first, second and third degree courses. UR cooperates with 140 universities around the world, including 16 universities in Ukraine. Several hundred students from Ukraine enrolled at the UR last academic year.
The UR organised special Polish language courses for the students, arranged for them places in dormitories. Also organised
a number of initiatives (events) to promote Polish language learning and their assimilation into the academic community.
The measures taken were intended to reduce the exclusion of Ukrainian students from the student community and increase
their social integration. These activities prove that the University of Rzeszow has the appropriate experience and potential to be a partner in the project.

Ovidius University of Constanta
Ovidius University of Constanta (OUC) was founded in 1961. OUC is the the largest European university at the Black Sea.
In 1990, it became a multidisciplinary university with numerous curricula covering all three levels. Its goal is to be recognized as the regional leader in higher education and research, to be the first option of students from the Black Sea region and beyond. It is an Eastern gateway to Europe and proposes to attract a large number of Romanian and international students, as well as outstanding academic staff.
OUC strives to achieve the highest European standards of quality education by offering bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral study programs, training our graduates for the competitive labor markets of Romania, the European Union and worldwide. The areas of study cover a very wide range, from Medical Studies to Engineering, from Humanities to Sciences, from Natural Sciences to Economics and Law, from Arts to Theology. Currently, the University has over 130 study programs.
The mission of Ovidius University of Constanta is to create, maintain and disseminate knowledge at all levels of society through European standard education, research and artistic creation. The university is actively engaged in the local community and has an impact over the entire Black Sea region, within Europe and beyond its borders. OUC became part of the European Higher Education Area, starting with the academic year 2005-2006, when it implemented the Bologna process, offering diplomas recognized both in the EU and beyond.
In present, OUC, with more than 18,000 students, of which over 1,000 international students, is the largest European Union
university on the Black Sea coast. Also, about the staff, our institution has over 1,000 employees, of which over 600 members are academic staff. The wide range of study fields represents one of Ovidius University’s major strengths. Our
academic staff understand that only a unity that respects diversity can provide the key to success.
OUC had aligned its priority research directions with regional, national and international strategies, taking advantage of its competitive advantages, in particular those resulting from its geostrategic position.The second main pillar of OUC mission is that of scientific research technological development – innovation.
The mission of the Research and Innovation Department is to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the university’s policies in the field of scientific research, technological development and innovation, as well as artistic creation.
In this organization there are two research institutes, and, in addition to these, OUC has 27 research centers, affiliated to its various departments and faculties. Over the last 15 years, the university has implemented more than 200 national and international projects.
The project aims to create a sense of belonging and community among Ukrainian students in Europe. By providing opportunities for networking, cultural exchange, and peer support, the project aims to promote social
inclusion and reduce feelings of isolation and marginalization.
